Applications 

Independent Study Opportunity w/ CBEY Finance, Food & Ag Systems, with a team of 3 amazing food and ag finance leaders: Mark Watson, Gray Harris, Dorothy Suput, and is phase-one of a longer-term project to improve food and farm systems and financing for them in the northeast US. The project involves research to create an annotated bibliography about farm and food system capital activation projects, planning efforts, grants, and existing landscape analyses.

Looking for a student with strong finance and food system knowledge, and the ability to conduct this research as an independent study with guidance from the team and me. There is some flexibility in the number of credit hours for this project, completed at different research depths, ranging from 1 to 3 credits, with work and hours adjusted accordingly. Any student who is interested can send an email to me at tagan.engel@yale.edu, briefly explaining their interest, related knowledge/experience, and attaching a resume. Full project description here and attached.
 


 

Opportunities 
Inclusive Economic Development Lab RA
Email: Alexis.willoughby@yale.edu with a statement of interest and resume to apply.
RA to support case study writing and research.  Activities may include archival research, data tidying, data visualization, data analysis, comparative research on city models and best practice, and preparing for and conducting stakeholder interviews. RA will assist with drafting a public-facing case study outline and the first draft for review by the case team.  Public speaking at community-facing events during report dissemination may be part of the position.  Skills preferred: research and analysis, interviewing experience, data analysis skills, data visualization skills, and academic writing skills. The ideal candidates will have a strong interest in learning to conduct applied, community-engaged research. Candidates with strong people and technical skills who are interested in learning more about moving data into community-facing products designed to facilitate community planning are encouraged to apply.  Deadline to apply: Rolling until filled.

🍲 Downtown Evening Soup Kitchen (DESK)
Volunteer any day to help prepare and serve meals for our neighbors in need. Shifts include donation processing, food prep, cafe service, meal packing, dishwashing (sign up with a friend!), snack bag prep, pantry support, and resource center assistance.
There are also evening opportunities like Dinner on the Green on Monday (Trinity Church) and Wednesday (First & Summerfield United Methodist Church).
