Join us for Social Impact Lab with Galen Jones (YSPH/SOM ’26), who will talk about his experience stepping into organizations at moments of profound uncertainty, when missions were unclear and major structural changes were needed. He will reflect on what it means to arrive at a true crossroads, how to show up and lead amid ambiguity, and how individuals and teams can help create clarity, strategy, and impact when the path forward is not yet defined.

Bio: Galen is a current MBA/MPH candidate at Yale with a background in military special operations, humanitarian emergencies, and organizational leadership. Prior to Yale, he served for nine years as a U.S. Army Special Forces Medical Sergeant, leading multinational medical training and supporting complex operations across Europe. He later worked in Ukraine with the Global Surgical and Medical Support Group on medical training initiatives, and has since completed internships with the World Health Organization’s Health Emergencies Programme and the Maritime Humanitarian Aid Foundation (MHAF), focusing on crisis response, organizational structure, and leading through uncertainty.
