About Us

History & Vision

Yale SOM's Net Impact chapter was founded by Seth Goldman '95 to build on the school's impact oriented programming. We believe that every business leader has both robust opportunity and weighty responsibility in their roles. The dual mandate to manage business success and improve the world is not a contradiction - it is a necessity.

Our Mission

At SOM, we have three overarching goals which inform our programming:

1. We provide recruiting support for all of those interested in social sector careers and internships.

2. We boost impact and society first mindsets across all business sectors via speakers, workshops, panels, and more.

3. We act as the bridge between all of the diverse impact focused clubs on campus by coordinating scheduling, social events, and collaborative community events.

Social Impact Lab

Social Impact Lab is a weekly forum that convenes students, leading alumni, and practitioners in the fields of social entrepreneurship and economic development for discussions around a wide array of issues in the social enterprise sector. Sponsored by Yale SOM's Program on Social Enterprise, SI Lab provides firsthand opportunities to learn about career paths in the field.

Social Impact Week

Every year, Net Impact puts on a themed week of events to emphasize social impact philosophy in the SOM community. We collaborate with SOM's other impact clubs, the professional groups, and the affinity organizations to host a full calendar of events.  In 2022, our theme was "Leading for Good" and Howard Dean was our keynote speaker. 2023's theme is "Earn your Power" and the week will take place in early December.

Net Impact Case Competition

Case competitions serve as a valuable opportunity for students to hone their business skills outside of the classroom. Each year, Net Impact hosts the only such competition at SOM exclusively for first year students. In line with our mission, the case focuses on a real world challenge taking place at the intersection of business and society. Deloitte is a proud sponsor of the NICC.
