Anika Chabra
CEO and Co-founder of Root & Seed

Anika Chabra is a Co-Founder of Root & Seed, a tech startup disrupting the culture and preservation space after spending two decades working in international advertising agencies and boutique creative shops, With experience with end to end solutions for clients across verticals, her leadership and solution-oriented approach as VP Managing Director led to long term client relationships and client and agency success. Anika couldn’t shake her entrepreneurial spirit and drive and as a result of a life experience she started to re-evaluate how she’d use her experience and gifts to serve the world. While on a journey to collect and document stories after the sudden and unexpected loss of her mom, Anika birthed Root & Seed with co-founder Jennifer Siripong Mandel. Turning pain into purpose, Anika’s journey through loss inspired the conception of the platform and now inspires others to honor and understand their unique family stories, document and celebrate them before it’s too late.

Fanta NGom

Fanta NGom is the Director of the Business and Human Rights Department, leading a team that works with a network of 300 investors—who collectively manage $7 trillion in assets globally—as well as corporations to integrate social justice issues into their business and investment practices. Through convenings, mobilization campaigns, providing tools and educational resources, as well as rewarding best practices, Fanta is advocating for the visibility of the “S” in ESG, amplifying critical issues including the rights and dignity of workers, ethical tech, DEIA and access to capital for underrepresented fund managers, stopping the growth of mass incarceration, and climate justice.

Prior to joining Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights, Fanta was a Global Product Marketer at Morgan Stanley Investment Management, providing marketing support, both onshore and offshore, for its Global Liquidity Business. In that role, Fanta helped to launch and build out marketing content for the Liquidity Team’s Ultra-Short Income Portfolio, which was the fastest-growing mutual fund in the U.S. in 2017. Due to the success of the fund, Fanta aided in the launch of a tax-exempt version of this fund in the U.S. as well as an offshore version, supporting marketing activities for launch and external promotions. Fanta was also the project manager for the development of marketing content for Morgan Stanley Investment Management’s ESG and Sustainable Investing efforts. She is the co-Founder of a developing nonprofit in Accra, Ghana, Protecting the Rights Of the Marginalized and Oppressed (PROMO), which seeks to address the stigma and discrimination associated with HIV/AIDS in Ghana, focusing on not only treatment and prevention, but also the socio-cultural factors that can affect an HIV positive woman's wellbeing.

Fanta holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from New York University and a Master of Public Health from George Washington University. She seeks to use her platform and expertise to address the mental and public health concerns that arise from human rights violations across the globe.

Gina Flores
Vice President of Development & Corporate Relations, at Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute

Gina M. Flores Stumpf is the Vice President of Development and Corporate Relations at the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute (CHCI). She leads the organization’s $15M fundraising strategy with a focus on diversifying revenue streams while enhancing programmatic support and alumni engagement.

Prior to CHCI, she has served as a nonprofit professional and fundraiser for education, arts, and advocacy organizations. Gina served as chief of staff at the Association of Children’s Museums, and a development leader at SkillsUSA, The Washington Center, the Smithsonian Institution, and UnidosUS. She also served as a program manager at the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU).

Gina holds a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish Literature from the University of Virginia, and an MBA from Yale School of Management ('05). In 2023, she was part of the inaugural leadership of SOMos Yale, an alumni affinity group at the Yale School of Management. Of Colombian and Mexican descent, born in Panama, Gina has sought volunteer and professional experiences that promote diversity initiatives and celebrate Latino achievement. She resides in the Washington, D.C. area with her husband.

Alyssa Ferdetta
Before enrolling at SOM, Alyssa was a Senior Consultant at Deloitte, supporting its Federal Government practice in Washington, DC. She did a little bit of everything during my 5 years at Deloitte - including software development, data analytics, organizational assessments, and change management.

Alyssa earned a bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh. She's originally from New Jersey and grew up in a loud house with three brothers and many dogs, cats, and a rabbit. She's passionate about animal rescue and in my free time, she enjoy playing video games, reading terrible romance novels, watching YouTube, and listening to true-crime podcasts.
