About Us

The Professional Communication Center is a collaboration between the Yale School of Management and the Yale Center for Language Study. Our aim is to help you improve your global communication skills and successfully address your communication needs.

1-on-1 Coaching Sessions

We can help you with one-time immediate needs (like written materials, emails, presentations, social media posts, application statements, or upcoming job interviews) or to develop longer-term communication skills (like speaking more clearly, improving your writing, or refining your English if it’s not your first language). We often complement the work you do with the Career Development Office by working more intensively on specific areas recommended by your advisor. Specialized support for multilingual or second-language speakers is also available.

Individual sessions can be booked using Calendly and are available during the academic year.

Contact Cynthia DeRoma (cynthia.deroma@yale.edu) if you face any problems booking an appointment.

Workshops

Our workshop roster includes topics like pronunciation, small talk, effective emails, and presentation skills. These highly interactive sessions are capped at small numbers to maximize participation and customization.

Check our upcoming events below for dates and descriptions of workshops as they become available.

By focusing on the suprasegmental features of pronunciation: prominence, rhythm, and intonation as well as the discrete sounds of the English language, You will feel more confident in your professional communication. Using a communicative and interactive approach, the course provides extensive speaking practice that allows students to build their fluency, accuracy, and speaking confidence.
