The club hosts a number of educational opportunities. Primers and panels range in topic from an overview of the healthcare industry to recruiting tips for internships to second year students and alums sharing their experience working in industry. Beyond SOM, the Yale ecosystem affords further learning opportunities, including the Solomon Center for Health Law and Policy events at Yale Law School and the Colloquium in Healthcare Leadership at Yale School of Public Health.
This year the Yale Healthcare & Life Sciences Club, in conjunction with the Career Development Office, will host healthcare-specific industry events to assist students with recruiting. Events may focus on industries such as health tech, healthcare consulting, or healthcare non-profits. The club works closely with the Career Development Office to ensure its members have the latest information on job opportunities. Our members, who have a wide range of backgrounds within (and beyond) the healthcare industry, are also an invaluable source of career advice.
The HC-LS Club works to ensure that prospective students interested in healthcare have access to the resources and information they need to learn about the healthcare ecosystem within SOM and within the greater Yale. We also host student and alumni happy hours as well as provide opportunities to meet with students from other programs and schools within Yale such as the School of Public Health. The club also runs community-wide wellness activities.
