Happy belated Independence Day to everyone from El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Chile and Mexico! We hope everyone is recovering well from celebrating these independence days and the Tite & Brite party :)

We have a few announcements for you all:

SOM COMMUNITIES – VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
On Thursday Sept. 22nd their well be a welcome reception from 6-8pm at a local bar for perspective students attending SOM’s diversity admissions event. A significant amount of the perspective students visiting are of Latino Heritage and it will be great to have several members of our club represent us. There will be free drinks and food!!!

SPANISH DINNERS ARE BACK!
Want to practice your Spanish? Miss speaking Spanish at home? Fear no more, we’re bringing back Spanish small dinners!! These are monthly get-togethers opened to anyone from the SOM community who is interested in speaking Spanish at dinner from novices to native speakers.

The first one will be this Tuesday September 20th.

LEADERSHIP POSITIONS FOR 1ST YEARS AND MAMS:
We are currently in the process of setting up video interviews a la SOM using Ignacio’s startup’s video technology! The questions that will be included are the following:

PROSPANICA CONFERENCE IN HOUSTON – Sept 29- Oct 1:
Every year NSHMBA, the premier organization for Hispanic MBAs, organizes a conference and career expo. It’s a great place to network with Hispanic professionals and meet companies that don’t always recruit on campus. In the past several SOM Students have gotten jobs thanks to the career expo. SAVE-THE-DATE
  • Oct 28th - Hispanic MBA Summit: CBS will host their annual gathering Hispanic MBA in NYC. Companies planning to attend include JPMorgan, Bain, BAML and BCG!
  • Nov 4th-5th – MBA Mexico in Boston: An annual conference for Mexican students studying in the US. It consists of panels discussing current business issues and events in Mexico plus multiple social events. It’s a great way to network and meet business leaders and fellow MBA students. Last year 4 students from SOM attended and highly recommended it. Learn more about it at http://www.mbamexico.org/
