Arts and Culture Club Newsletter

September 20

The school year is officially in full swing, and if you’re anything like us, you’re probably feeling like you spend most of your life at school, at home, or at GPSCY. It’s time to break out and see a little bit of New Haven!

Upcoming Events and Club Gatherings

Come support SOMers Charles Felix ‘14 and Caitie Hannon ‘14 (joint degree with Drama), who are co-producing the show.

We have 10 tickets that we’ll give away for free via lottery. If interested, please express interest using this form. We’ll announce the winners of the lottery on Monday, 9/23. Whether you win a ticket or not, we encourage you to go see the show, which will play Thursday through Saturday night.

Join us for dinner and an evening at the theater.

We have 10 tickets that we’ll give away for free via lottery. If interested, please fill out this form. We will announce the winners on Wednesday, 9/25. Even if you don’t win, we encourage you to purchase a student ticket and join us for dinner at Cask Republic before the show. Details to follow.

  • Film Club returns! We’re looking to get this tradition started again, but we need your help picking a date. We know life is busy around Caulkins and we want to be sure we accommodate as many film fans as possible. Please take our poll to help us determine what night of the week is best, and which movie we should watch first.

  • Love classical music and the thrill of getting a great deal on tickets to cultural events? Join other SOMers in subscribing to the 2013-2014 Season of the Yale Symphony Orchestra. Just $39 for 6 shows, including the renowned Halloween Show. Then join us for the season opener at 8pm on Saturday, October 5th. Email Frances if you are planning to attend and would like to grab dinner ahead of time.

Coffeehouse

We will host our first Coffeehouse on Tuesday, November 12th at 7:30pm. The Coffeehouse is a semi-annual event that brings the entire SOM community together and gives students an opportunity to share their wide-ranging talents. If you may be interested in performing, please email us at Arts and Culture.
