First years, CONGRATS on finishing your first exam in b-school!! Si se pudo!! We hope all of you are out there celebrating!

Below are a few announcements for everyone:

LEADERSHIP
THE APPLICATION IS LIVE FOR LEADERHSIP POSITIONS:
We are looking for some enthusiastic 1st years and MAMs to join our leadership team! The application is a quick survey that includes the following questions:
  • What were you doing before you came to Yale SOM?
  • Why do you want to be an LLA leader?
  • Which types of activities would like to lead and why?
 Please fill it out by Tuesday Sept 27 at 8 am and please try to keep answers under 150 words. If you have any questions please feel free to reach out to any of us.

SOCIAL
SPANISH DINNER IS RESCHEDULED!
Want to practice your Spanish? Miss speaking Spanish at home? Fear no more, we’re bringing back Spanish small dinners!! These are monthly get-togethers opened to anyone from the SOM community who is interested in speaking Spanish at dinner from novices to native speakers.

Due to the first year probability test we decided to reschedule our first Spanish Dinner to Tuesday September 27th at 6pm.

SALSA LESSONS FROM THE ONE AND ONLY PEPE
Pepe has kindly offered to teach a one hour salsa session some time before our annual “Party in White.” Please keep an eye out for future communication.

RECRUITING
PARTHENON-EY IS RECRUITING FOR MEXICO

We got the following email from them:
I am Daniel Gonzalez, Consultant from the Parthenon-EY Mexico office. I want to extend a personal invitation to the Latin Club at Yale to attend the Parthenon recruiting event taking place on Oct 26, 2016 in your campus. The recruiting event is for all US offices + the recently opened Mexico City office.

 Since we just opened the Mexico City office, we want to make sure the word spreads out to students interested in an internship or full time opportunity here.

How to apply
If you are interested in applying to Parthenon-EY Mexico, please follow the regular application process that will be described in the presentation, plus send an email to (daniel.e.gonzalez@mx.ey.com) with your CV attached. Specify in your email if you are interested in a Summer Internship or Full Time opportunity, and your expected graduation date.

SPEAKERS
YALE WORLD FELLOW FROM BRAZIL SPEAKING
You’re invited to a roundtable discussion called “Anti-trust in Developing Countries: Where we are and where we are heading.” The main speaker will be the former president of Brazilian antitrust authority and current World Fellow: Vinicius Marques de Carvalho.

The talk will take place on Wednesday, September 28, 5 pm in classroom 4430.

SAVE-THE-DATE
FOR THE FOLLOWING:
  • Oct 28th - Hispanic MBA Summit: CBS will host their annual gathering Hispanic MBA in NYC. Companies planning to attend include JPMorgan, Bain, BAML and BCG! 
  • Nov 4th-5th – MBA Mexico in Boston: An annual conference for Mexican students studying in the US. It consists of panels discussing current business issues and events in Mexico plus multiple social events. It’s a great way to network and meet business leaders and fellow MBA students. Last year 4 students from SOM attended and highly recommended it. Learn more about it at http://www.mbamexico.org/
