THE SUMMER INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

The Barclays Summer Internship Program is designed to provide our summer interns with broad exposure to the businesses.  This 10-week intensive program consists of real and practical work assignments that allow you to participate and contribute to real meetings and research projects.  We also emphasize on balancing work through a variety of corporate events and social community events that enable you to build a vital network of colleagues and friends. The goal of the summer program is to provide a solid base and experience in Investment Banking, and an opportunity to confirm your career aspirations.

WHAT WILL MY ROLE BE AS AN INVESTMENT BANKING ASSOCIATE?

As an Investment Banking Associate, you will become intensely involved from client marketing to transaction execution. You will be conducting industry research and assimilate key insights, performing financial analyses and modelling and making sensible recommendations, managing execution of day-to-day activities in live deals, and leading the development and preparation of client presentation materials. Our Associates will have opportunities to participate in and lead discussion with client senior management and to provide strategic input in transactions. This high level of responsibility is designed for you to gain in-depth knowledge and comprehension for your respective clients and sector to further develop your long-term Investment Banking career. 

 

Currently Available Locations: Hong Kong, Singapore or Tokyo

WHAT DOES BARCLAYS LOOK FOR IN AN INVESTMENT BANKING ASSOCIATE?

  • Genuine interest in financial markets
  • Highly motivated, result-driven
  • Team work, project management skills, and client relations skills
  • Strong verbal, written, quantitative, and analytical skills
  • Fluency in English, additional Asia Pacific language skills encouraged
  • Proven leadership qualities, a strong work commitment, and high ethical standards
  • Ability to handle long hours and demanding assignments, which are a constant reality in the field
  • Proven academic performance, demonstrate solid numerical and analytical skills
  • MBA or equivalent postgraduate degrees
