Details
Pride Week is a dedicated week recognized across the university as a way for our community to celebrate together prior to Pride month. In many countries, June is officially recognized as Pride month, even though some cities may hold their pride events on alternate dates.
Pride Month is largely credited as starting with the Stonewall Riots, led by trans activists of color Marsha P. Johnson & Sylvia Rivera, lesbian activist Stormé DeLarverie, and bisexual activist Brenda Howard. Early in the morning on June 28, police raided the Stonewall Inn, a Greenwich Village bar that had become a staple of New York City's underground gay community. But this time, tired of the ongoing raids, community members fought back, striking what would become known as The Stonewall Riots. A year after Stonewall, the first Gay Pride March was held by the Christopher Street Liberation Day Committee to commemorate the riots.
Join Out of Office, the Office of Community Engagement and Dialogue & the Yale SOM community to celebrate!

Whether you’re a die-hard fan of the Shane/Ilya saga or you just enjoy a high-stakes "enemies-to-lovers" narrative, it’s time to drop the gloves and pick up a glass.
Out of Office and the Hockey Club are joining forces for a happy hour that proves the most intense rivalries usually hide the best chemistry. We’re bridging the gap between the blue line and the rainbow flag for a night of community. Join us after this year's Garstka Cup for a celebration of healthy (heated) competition.
11:45 AM – 12:45 PM
Join Out of Office for a Pride Week lunch event featuring Casey Tanner, AASECT-certified sex therapist, author of *Feel It All*, and founder of Queer Sex Therapy and The Expansive Group. In this conversation, Casey will share insights on queerness, relationships, identity, and sex therapy through an inclusive and affirming lens. The discussion will cover navigating identity, building healthy relationships, advocating for your needs, and fostering inclusivity in the workplace. Anonymous Q&A will be available.
6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Join Students for Racial Equity and Out of Office for a viewing of Rafiki during Day 2 of Pride Week!
Rafiki—which means “friend” in Swahili—is a powerful exploration of Black queer joy, chosen family, and the courage it takes to love authentically in the face of social and political oppression. Through vibrant visuals and heartfelt storytelling, the film invites us to reflect on the intersections of race, culture, gender, and sexuality across global contexts.
Come watch, connect, and engage in conversation as we uplift LGBTQ+ voices of color and celebrate stories of resilience, intersectionality and liberation. All are welcome.
11:45 AM – 12:45 PM
