All across New Haven, art thrives, whether it's performing arts, painting, sculpture, pottery, knitting, etc. This city is home to artists from around the world and has so much to offer to those who are available for it. Hear from local artists, scholars, and community members as they detail ways to get involved with Black art in this city and what the future holds for creative spaces. Moderated by the Office of Community Engagement's Associate Director Zanaiya Léon, panelists for this conversation include: MBA candidate Jasmine Marshall '26, Shamain McAllister (Director of Arts, Culture, and Tourism for the City of New Haven), Trey Moore (musician and founder of Seeing Sounds), and MFA candidate Moshopefoluwa Olagunju ‘27.

Hosted by Yale SOM's Office of Community Engagement and Dialogue, this event is in collaboration with the Black Business Alliance and the Afro-American Cultural Center at Yale in honor of Black History Month.
