About Will Araujo:
Will Araujo serves as the Vice President of Autonomous Vehicle Development at Cruise, leading a dynamic team of over 200 professionals—including product and engineering directors, data scientists, technical product and program managers, technicians, and engineers. His team specializes in advancing and integrating innovative technologies into complex vehicle systems. Will oversees Cruise’s global vehicle development from concept through full-scale production, directly managing comprehensive component-level and vehicle-level testing and reliability programs in collaboration with General Motors (GM).
Will played a pivotal role in launching Cruise’s groundbreaking commercial driverless service in San Francisco, the first of its kind in a major U.S. city, emphasizing safety and reliability. Under his leadership, Cruise achieved significant milestones, including the production launch of the self-driving Cruise Origin at GM’s Factory Zero and introducing the Origin WAV, the world’s first autonomous wheelchair-accessible vehicle.
Beyond his work at Cruise, Will actively invests in early-stage robotics and space technology startups, driven by a passion for innovation and exploration. He currently resides in Lake Tahoe, NV, with his wife and infant daughter. Reflecting his commitment to environmental stewardship, Will was elected in 2024 to the Board of Supervisors for the Nevada Tahoe Conservation District. He holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University at Albany and an MBA from Yale University, and consistently leads with integrity, fostering a culture of innovation, excellence, and accountability.
