Details
Each participant will have the opportunity to spend ~1.5 hours on the wheel, as well as ~1.5 hours handbuilding.
During the wheel throwing portion, participants will get to create a few small pieces — usually shallow dishes, bowls, or cups — while learning the fundamentals of centering clay and shaping on the wheel.
Meanwhile, the other group works on a handbuilding project, where participants can get creative and make just about anything they’d like. The instructors will demonstrate coil coil-building techniques for creating bowls or dishes, and everyone can personalize their pieces from there.
Each group will then switch, so that everyone gets to explore both techniques and eventually take home a few pieces in each style.
Wear clothes that you don't mind getting dirty! Open to all levels of clay experience (especially beginners)! Participants will have the opportunity to have their pieces glazed, and will be able to take them home a few weeks after the event!
