Yale SOM's Student Government (SG) is the principal means by which students collectively shape their Yale SOM experience and the experience of future classes. The institution fosters communication, respect and understanding among students, faculty, staff and alumni in order to maintain and enhance the Yale School of Management's unique place in the field of business education.

President and 2nd-year positions are elected each Spring around mid-April. 1st-year/1-year degree positions are elected at the beginning of the academic year in mid-September. The Intro to Student Government session details how the elections operate, make sure to RSVP!

Cohort Reps also are part of this election process, see below the roles of Cohort Reps.

Cohort Representatives

Cohort Reps form an important part of the student voice and experience. Cohort Reps help to channel feedback to the administration on the student academic and co-curricular experience.

But perhaps more importantly, they create a connected community, hosting events and opportunities for intra-cohort community building. A strong community is what makes the SOM journey what it is!
