WiLD IceFest: Learn to Ice Climb!

Yale SOM community members are invited to join WiLD for a weekend of ice climbing and hiking / snow-shoeing in Franconia Notch State Park in New Hampshire!

We'll be staying at Parker's Motel in Lincoln for two nights, and while there will spend a half-day ice climbing with Rock Spot Climbing. Attendees will also have the opportunity to take part in other outdoor activities such as hiking, snow-shoeing, or going to Bretton Woods. Please note that this ticket includes two nights lodging, simple breakfast items for Saturday and Sunday, and Saturday trail lunch (e.g., sandwhiches, trail mix, etc.). While attendees are responsible for their own travel to and from New Hampshire, WiLD help coordinate carpooling and connect those needing rides with open seats or rental car options. 

Rough Itinerary:

• Friday (2/6): Cars will depart from SOM Friday morning / afternoon depending on driver schedules. Due to different departure times members will be responsible for their own dinner (either in Lincoln or on the drive-up)
• Saturday (2/7): Quick early morning breakfast at motel. We will then meet our guides at the motel, gear up, and head to Franconia Notch for ice climbing. Climbing will end around lunch, at which point we'll have sandwiches (at motel) and divide into smaller groups for different activities (going to Bretton Woods, snow-shoeing, cross country skiing, etc.). Our group will reconvene in the evening and share stories from the day over dinner in Lincoln (please note that this dinner is not covered by WiLD, and attendees are responsible for paying for their meal)
• Sunday (2/8): Cars will depart on own time based on driver schedules. Coffee at motel and likely a quick morning hike around Lincoln before departure
