Join us as we kick off the SOM Title IX 10-Year Anniversary in recognition of Black History Month with a powerful conversation featuring Dr. Salamishah Tillet, moderated by Assistant Deans Anita Sharif-Hyder and Ebonie Jackson. This discussion will explore Dr. Tillet’s work and the intersection of Title IX, race, gender, and equity.

Dr. Tillet is a cultural critic, educator, and Professor of English and Africana Studies at Rutgers University–New Brunswick. She is also the co-founder of A Long Walk Home, an organization that uses art and education to end violence against women and girls. Drawing on her scholarship and advocacy, Dr. Tillet will reflect on how Title IX is experienced differently across communities and why an intersectional approach is critical to advancing justice and accountability.

This event is presented in collaboration with the Title IX Working Group, the Office of Community and Engagement, and the Black Business Alliance. Lunch will be provided!
