“Embracing our Evolution; From a Certification to a Movement.”
Jorge will discuss the development of B Lab and of the B-Corporation movement, exploring how B Lab’s focus has progressed from performance to mission lock to collective action, as well as its evolving standards and strategy.
About Jorge:
Jorge Fontanez is the Chief Executive Officer at B Lab U.S. & Canada, a Global Partner of the nonprofit B Lab, commonly known for certifying for-profit companies trademarked as B Corps, who as a community are mobilizing to change the economic system to benefit all people, and the planet. He also founded Marca Studio in 2015, a brand and marketing strategy consultancy, serving for-profit social enterprises and nonprofits. He is a First Mover Fellow of The Business & Society Program at The Aspen Institute. Jorge brings the mindset of an intrapreneur to his work, having focused his private sector career on stakeholder engagement at the intersection of marketing, technology and sustainability, during which he worked at Alcoa, Colgate-Palmolive, and JPMorgan Chase & Co. Jorge received his MBA from Stern and a BSE from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
