Social Impact Lab, November 29. 11:45 a.m. – 12:45 p.m.
Evans Hall Room #4430
Join us for Social Impact Lab and a workshop on different approaches to giving with Emma Cameron from One for the World!
Did you know you can get between 100-1,000x more impact from your nonprofit donations?
There are over 1.5 million registered nonprofits in the US, all promoting worthy causes and needing more funding. With such a bewildering array of options, how do we decide where to give?
Emma Cameron is the Director of Organizing for One for the World, a global organization committed to revolutionizing charitable giving and ensuring everyone fully embraces their opportunity to give. With over five years of experience working with volunteers to support charitable causes, she advises hundreds of organizers on university campuses and corporate offices each year on building thriving communities supporting effective giving, like Jen, Femi, Alvaro, and Hannah at One for the World's Yale SOM chapter.
Join Emma for a 45-minute workshop on different approaches to giving, how to choose which nonprofits are the best to support, and how to get as much as 1,000x more impact from your donations. There will also be an opportunity for Q&A at the end.
Just for attending, One for the World will donate $10 to any nonprofit of your choice following the end of the talk!
Emma’s Bio
Emma joined One for the World after years of running corporate campaigns and organizing with a global, distributed network of volunteers at Mercy For Animals, a farmed animal protection non-profit. She learned about effective giving in Madison, Wisconsin, where she obtained her MS in geochemistry and ultimately shifted her career into what she sees as more impactful work. Her earlier passion for telling stories about the ancient Earth through isotopic analysis of tiny crystals has translated into a passion for sharing stories to fuel the movement to revolutionize charitable giving.
Lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m., with gluten-free and vegan options.
