Social Impact Lab: Global Social Entrepreneurship (GSE) Info Session with Prof Tony Sheldon

This week's Social Impact Lab is an info session on the Global Social Entrepreneurship (GSE) course.

GSE is a semester-long, practicum-focused course that links teams of Yale graduate students with mission-driven social enterprises to address specific management challenges. SOM offers two GSEs:

• GSE India (which runs Fall-2 / Spring-1) has worked with more than 50 organizations in India since 2008.
• Spring GSE (which runs January – May) will work with organizations based in Sao Paolo, Brazil, in 2027.

In both courses, we work with leading and emerging social enterprises engaged in economic development, sustainable energy, agriculture, education, healthcare, and environmental conservation. GSE is by application only. Both GSEs are credit courses (offering the equivalent of 1.5 regular courses) and fulfill SOM’s Global Studies Requirement. Tony Sheldon, a senior lecturer in the practice of management, has been teaching the GSE courses since 2008. His background is in international development.
