Please join Women in Management as we welcome four Yale School of Management alumnae to discuss their extensive backgrounds in the financial services industry: Andrea Levere '83, President Emerita, Prosperity Now and ICF Executive Fellow, Yale School of Management, Janice Shade '94, Founder/Executive Director of Capital Innovation Lab, Natalie Eller '20, Vice President at Goldman Sachs, and Rachelle Clark '22, Investment Banking Associate at Citi. The conversation will be moderated by SOM faculty members Alex Zentefis and Heather Tookes and will explore topics surrounding how to think about and navigate diversity, equity, and inclusion in finance.
-------
Andrea Levere is President Emerita of Prosperity Now (formerly CFED), a private nonprofit organization with the mission of ensuring that everyone can gain financial stability, build wealth and achieve prosperity. It designs and operates major national initiatives that aim to integrate financial capability services into systems serving low-income people, build assets and savings, close the racial wealth divide and advance research and policies that expands economy mobility for all. She stepped down in August 2019 after spending 15 years as President and 27 years with the organization. As an ICF Executive Fellow, Andrea spends time at Yale SOM sharing her expertise and knowledge of nonprofit organizations and working with several students on a special project.
Janice Shade is a social entrepreneur, financial innovator, adjunct professor, and author with over 30 years’ experience building brands, businesses, and movements. Since 2006, she’s pioneered efforts toward democratic access to capital and economic justice, including Capital Innovation Lab, a 501(c)3 nonprofit that develops education, resources and networks to increase access to community capital for historically marginalized entrepreneurs. Her book, Moving Mountains: The Power of Main Street Americans to Change Our Economy, published in 2020, explores the impact of traditional capital markets on social entrepreneurism and provides a vision for how citizen investors can be a positive force for change in their communities. She also teaches the core courses of Sustainable Finance and Integrated Bottom Line Accounting at Bard MBA in Sustainability.
Natalie Eller is a Vice President at Goldman Sachs in the Public Sector & Infrastructure Banking Group where she focuses on transportation and public private partnerships. She earned her Masters in Business Administration from Yale SOM in 2020 and undergraduate degree in American Studies and Urban Planning at the University of Virginia in 2012. Prior to business school, Natalie worked in the public sector in various rolles, as a Policy Advisor in the Chancellor's Office at the New York City Department of Education, Urban Fellow at the New York City Housing Authority, and a High School English Teacher through Teach for America in Indianapolis, IN. In her free time she enjoys running and being an aunt.
Rachelle Clark is an international development professional interested in sustainable finance. She currently works at the United States International Development Finance Corporation (“DFC”) on the project finance team. Rachelle has had several years of international experience, working most recently at Citigroup as an Investment Banking Associate and on the Latin America Corporate Strategy teams. Rachelle graduated from Yale School of Management’s MBA program in 2022, where she had leadership roles in the Economic Development Club, Black Business Alliance, and Women in Management. She is now on the Board for the Black Business Alliance Alumni Affinity Network for Yale SOM and volunteers at The Bowery Mission in New York City. Rachelle graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and is originally from Southern California.
