Join the Yale SOM Chinese Alumni Alliance for our 2026 Annual Gathering as we celebrate our second year and the continued growth of our alumni community. The evening will feature a fireside conversation with Sally Shan exploring how we can think more intentionally about our “life assets” and reinvent ourselves as we navigate new environments, evolving careers, and different stages of life.
We will also mark an exciting new chapter for the Alliance with the unveiling of our new logo and recognition of alumni mentors who have helped strengthen our community. The evening will conclude with a special book signing with Sally and an alumni social—an opportunity to reconnect with old friends, make new connections, and celebrate our growing community.

Join the Yale SOM Chinese Alumni Alliance for our 2026 Annual Gathering as we celebrate our second year and the continued growth of our alumni community. The evening will feature a fireside conversation with Sally Shan exploring how we can think more intentionally about our “life assets” and reinvent ourselves as we navigate new environments, evolving careers, and different stages of life.

Sally Shan '97
Sally Shan is the Chairperson and Founding Partner of BoQiao Capital. She previously served as Chairperson and Partner of ECC Capital. She was Head of China at HarbourVest Partners from 2012 to 2024, where she built the private equity investment and fundraising platform. Previously, she served in the Global Technology Investment Banking Group of Lehman Brothers in Silicon Valley and New York for ten years and she also served as Managing Director and Head of Asia Technology Investment Banking at JPMorgan.
Sally received a BS in economics from the Renmin University of China in 1992 and an MBA from Yale University in 1997. She is an advisor to the Yale Alumni Association of Beijing. Between 2019 and 2024, she was a member of the Yale School of Management Greater China Advisory Board. She is a China member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network. She co-founded the SHero Young Women Leadership Program and became an internationally certified co-active coach in 2020. Sally is the author of Becoming Ourselves—A Yale Mother-Daughter Story of Growth.
