As part of the Celebration of Women at SOM series and in honor of Black History Month, we’re hosting a diversity & inclusion event titled “The Journey to Equity”. Please join this robust community discussion around both progress to date on the gender equity topic, while also engaging in ‘real’ talk around why progress hasn’t been quicker in advancing women, particularly women of color. Joining the panel are faculty members who will share labor statistics and research on gender inequity, and alumnae who will contribute their perspectives and experiences. Topics will include which strategies are being used to tackle this problem, personal experience being a woman in business, and how SOM students can affect change starting now.
Judith Scimone (SOM ’00)
Senior Vice President, Chief Talent Officer, MetLife
Judith Scimone currently serves as Senior Vice President, Chief Talent Officer for MetLife. Her experience spans multiple industries, geographies and functional areas. Prior to joining Google, Judith has held talent management, HR business partner, diversity/inclusion and consulting roles at Google, Johnson & Johnson, Motorola, Bank of America, JP Morgan Chase, and Hewitt Associates. She began her career as a Mechanical Engineer at General Electric. Judith has lived in the United States (home), Latin America and Asia Pacific.
Judith holds a B.S degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Mathematics from Carnegie Mellon University and an M.B.A. from Yale School of Management.
Fun facts: Judith loves cooking and cross-country motorcycle rides (mostly as passenger). She and her husband do both of these things in just about every country they visit.
Rasanah Goss (SOM ’11)
Manager – Corporate Functions, North America Diversity Recruiting, Accenture
Rasanah Goss is a Manager at Accenture where she focuses on creating and implementing talent acquisition policies and practices to increase the pool of diverse candidates, ensure the recruiting process is inclusive, and deliver diversity recruiting business outcomes. Since joining Accenture in 2014, she has worked on the full spectrum of talent acquisition in North America and other geographies.
Prior to joining Accenture, Rasanah worked in the media & entertainment and nonprofit sectors. As a marketing manager she worked on award winning multicultural and multigenerational consumer marketing campaigns as well as drove retail revenue for some of the most popular magazines including People, Fortune and Food & Wine. In the nonprofit sector her work focused on the arts and diversity.
Rasanah lives in Brooklyn. She currently serves on Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater’s Young Patrons Circle Steering Committee and is Co-Chair of the Ailey Ambassadors Scholarship Fundraising Committee. Rasanah graduated with honors from Stanford University and earned an MBA from the Yale School of Management. She stays connected to Yale SOM by serving as the co-chair of the Alumni of Color Group in NYC.
Natania Gazek (SOM ’17)
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Consultant
Natania Malin Gazek (she/her) is a freelance diversity, equity, and inclusion consultant with a decade of cross-sector experience putting employees first to improve organizational effectiveness. With clients ranging from 10,000+ person corporations, to 30-person B-Corps, to two-person tech startups, her work is driven by the belief that our future depends on diverse workplaces, where inclusive cultures allow values-aligned employees to thrive. Originally from CA, Natania earned her BA in Sociology from Vassar College before graduating from Yale SOM in 2017 with her MBA focused in Organizational Behavior. Now a Brooklyn resident, Natania spends her free time volunteering on the board of Avodah (a Jewish nonprofit focused on ending the causes of poverty in the US), unwinding over jigsaw puzzles, and jogging in Prospect Park.
