Join us for a workshop to learn more about developing and enhancing healthy financial behaviors around spending habits, saving money, and borrowing wisely. In this one-hour workshop, we hope to address and answer all of these questions:
• Why should you budget?
• What are effective approaches to spending and saving?
• How much should you save for retirement and what is the best approach?
• How should you manage student loans, credit cards, and other debts?
• What is the best approach to financing a graduate school education and repaying the loans?
• What are credit scores and credit reports and why are they important?
This workshop will be taught by Jimmy Becker. He is an SOM class of 1986 graduate and the founder of FinanciallySpeaking.org, which provides customized workshops on a range of personal finance topics, including:
• Developing healthly spending, saving, and budgeting habits for young adults
• Saving for retirement
• Understanding the college financial aid process and student loan repayment
He has taught these workshops to high school, college, and graduate students, as well as adult learners at community groups, unions, and adult education centers.
