At SOM
During Orientation, you will be given different types of swag including a reusable water bottle and a canvas tote bag. You are encouraged to begin using these as soon as you receive them! We will have multiple water stations available at all times during Orientation, but Evans Hall also has 6 water bottle fill stations around the building!
In Evans Hall, other daily efforts can include turning the lights and screens off before leaving breakout rooms, using silverware and ceramic plates provided in Charley's Place, and utilizing reusable mugs at McNay Café. Additionally, recycling and compost bins are readily available alongside trash bins.
As students, there are also plenty of ways to get involved in sustainability efforts. Students can join SOM's Student Government Sustainability Committee, Business & the Environment Club, Energy Club, or even take courses concerning the intersection of Business & the Environment!

At Broader Yale
Yale as a whole is continuously working towards a seamless integration of sustainability into scholarship and operations of the university. This sustainability vision includes 9 ambitions: climate action, stewardship, built environment, mobility, materials, technology, leadership, empowerment, and health & well-being. You can learn more about these efforts on the Yale Sustainability site.
Single Stream Recycling is the University-wide recycling method, making it easier for students to engage in as it allows you to deposit cans, bottles and other glass, hard plastics, and metals in the same bin with mixed paper. Yale's recycling website is a great resource to learn more.
More Sustainability Resources across Yale include: Yale Center for Business & the Environment ~ Yale Center for Environment & Law Policy ~ Yale Sustainable Food Program ~ Environment Leadership & Training Initiative ~ Yale Project on Climate Change Communication ~ Many initiatives through Yale School of the Environment
