Grant Eligibility and Application Process
Applications for Internship Fund grants are due on April 15. Click this link to submit your application. Award decisions will be made in late April/early May, and funding disbursements will come in two installments: approximately 80% in the third week of June, and the remainder in September.
For those of you intending to apply for summer grants, please note the following information with regard to grant eligibility:
- IF grants are only available to MBA students for summer internships between their first and second years of study. (Joint-degree students, for instance, may not apply for grants for multiple years.)
- In accordance with SOM’s Loan Forgiveness guidelines, grants are available to those pursuing internships with the following types of organizations:
- 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(4) organizations in the United States (or the equivalent abroad)
- Government organizations
- Low-profit Limited Liability Companies (L3C's)
- Certified B-Corporations
- The following exception will be made this year:
- Organizations that have received B-Corporation “Pending” Status and are awaiting official certification from B-Lab will be treated as fully eligible (Click here for more information on B-Lab’s “Pending” Status).
- Please note: Other organizations have been given special exceptions in past years; this does not mean those same organizations will be given the same exceptions this year. Please carefully check whether your intended internship falls within the guidelines listed above.
- Grantees are required to complete 10 hours of volunteer service, at least 5 of which are designated for IF-specific activities. To sign up, please e-mail riley.gudgeon@yale.edu.
